Gotta say, this is probably my favorite artist right now. Deadmau5 (pronounced ‘dead mouse’) is right now one of the most original, innovative, and exciting producer/dj’s in the industry (though, admittedly, Deadmau5 has a very specific definition of a ‘DJ’). Anyway, I’ve been pretty much listening to him non-stop ever since I first heard him in England.deadmau5

Bio: Found lurking in the creative laboratory known as the ‘deadmau5 disco den of despair and inequity’ this creative ingenue runs the gamut of beats unlike any other. Since his inception deadmau5 has stormed our planet with chart topping action and playlists from the best of the best.deadmau52

Deadmau5’s magnificent stylings have a captured an audience that has moves with him and his sounds. Ranging from thumping to the electro, the weird and the strong – one thing has become synonymous with deadmau5 and that is world class quality.deadmau5_02.jpg

This Canadian native transplanted from the borders of Niagara Falls to Toronto and that’s just the beginning of his tale. In Niagara he was the co-producer of a radio program “the party revolution” and that may very well have been the launch of the deadmau5. From the many collaborations which have transpired alongside friend and companion sound genius Steve Duda, the moniker of BSOD was born.deadmau54

Meanwhile in Canada deadmau5 has helped position label Play Digital as a top selling label online landing number 1 singles and remixes on digital market via These singles have seen play by the likes of Pete Tong, John Acquaviva, Chris Lake, Sebastien Leger, Nic Fanciulli, Jody from WOW, Donald Glaude and many many more…deadmau53
Currently working with the group 24twentyfour the future is powered by the sounds of deadmau5. Now with his own label ‘Xfer records’ and ‘mau5trap’. Mightier than a sonic boom the house of mau5 is a powerful force on the dancefloors of the globe.deadmau59

And in case you didn’t catch that – yes, he is

That adds one more to my list of favorite artists from Canada! Our countries may disagree on a lot of issues (relevant point..? healthcare) but anyone with ears and half a brain has to give it to ’em: they have an amazing, impressive, and innovative music scene up there.deadmau57

Damn he has a sick set up to. C heck out his equip in this pic, including MK3 pioneers (industry standard), two house mixers and a PA  live-mixer, his laptop, and he’s also probably got some vinyl chillin’ around there somewhere…So sick.

Check out this video and tell that doesn’t look like one of the best live shows you’ve ever seen…

Camu Tao tribute – The Weathermen, bio videos and songs

1 08 2009

a really creative video and a great song… absorb the soundwaves!

I’ve been a fan of Tame’s since the Artifacts first dropped “Between a Rock and a Hard Place,” and seeing as he is a former member of the Weathermen, one of whom’s frontman Camu-Tao has recently passed away, I figure this is a relevant time to write a little something about The Weathermen as a tribute to the late-great underground rapper Camu Tao.

The Weathermen are an amazing east coast underground rap crew – at times being composed of underground heavy weights such as Chris Palko aka Cage, Aesop Rock, Camu Tao, Tame One, and often collaborating of Breeze Brewin (of the Juggaknots, who did the song ‘Sex Type Thang’ probably my favorite rap song OF ALL TIME, no joke)

check it out…

Anyway back to The Weathermen, who were a notable mention on my top ten rap crew’s list, although I’m beginning to think I should slip them into the top ten…

The Weathermen are a New York City based, underground hip-hop supergroup consisting of Aesop Rock, Tame One, Cage Kennylz, Yak Ballz, El-P, and Breeze Brewin. The group took its name from the revolutionary organization Weatherman, and sometimes refers to itself as the “New Left”. Former members include Jakki da Motamouth, Copywrite, Vast Aire and the late Camu Tao.

..sickkkk cut, love RJD2 as well

Anyway, just recently the world has been shocked by the passing of Camu Tao (at least the underground rap world) who recognize this as the passing of a lyrical genius and a great all around artist and person.CAMU2

Camu Tao (born Tero Smith, June 6, 1977 – May 25, 2008) was an American rapper and producer who was signed to the Definitive Jux label (I must admit, I like just about every piece of music and every artist from Def Jux, they simply never do anything bad, EVER!) He was a part of the duo S.A. Smash with fellow rapper Metro, a part of the rap group Weathermen, and the Central Services production team with El-P.CAMU
Smith was also a member of the music collective Cardboard City.
He was also part of Columbus, Ohio’s MHz crew with Copywrite, RJD2, Jakki Tha MotaMouth & Tage Proto, and with Cage, half of The Nighthawks, who made one album during a single three-day creative session.
Smith died on May 25, 2008, after a two-year battle with lung cancer. 😦 At the time of his death, he was working on a song he produced for Cage’s I Never Knew You EP as well as his first solo album for Definitive Jux. On July 9th, El-P announced via Twitter that the album, King of Hearts, was finished, and would be released posthumously on October 20th, 2009. I’m looking forward to it, dropping 4 days before I turn 21, a nice present!CAMU4

Dance Wiv Me – Dizzee Rascal (Ron Carrol remix)

from ‘Ministry of Sound The Annual: 2009’

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang – High Contrast

from ‘Tough Guys Don’t Dance’

They rocked this tune at ‘The Church‘ today and it was the first time I’d heard it in a long time. With about 500 crazy drunk people dancing, booze everywhere, and huge speakers, I was in a different world. It’s def. been stuck on my head ever since…

new version of Wikipedia..

1 08 2009

So I have just found a new website/online encyclopedia which called itself Encyclopedia Dramatica… You have to see this site to believe it, seriously… Search for anything and it gives you the completely unbiased – and un-pc – answer to your question, similar to wikipedia, except NOT. Try Mcdonalds for instance:

JokerMcDonald's“Why so fattening? “

Seriously, I can’t even believe this site legally exists. Search anything that is even remotely popupar and you will be sure to find something interesting. I want to investigate further the validity of their facts, but you can’t deny the hilarity of their – albiet often bigoted and chauvanistic – but hilarious statements. God the internet is insane.

A quote from the Lindsay Lohan page:

Lindsay Lohan, better known as lilo, lezzlo, Hohan, Firecrotch, or Frankie Muniz, is a crack-whore who “uses boys for drugs and girls for thrills”. She was originally famous as a child star but now only stars in shitty movies, makes shitty musicwhores herself out for drugs, and is an international superstar.

Presently, her only claim to fame is that she’s a carpet munching lesbian ex-child-star more washed up than Gary Coleman while Perez Hilton is obsessed with outing her to the point of self-effacing homophobic insanity.

Also, her girlfriend Samantha Ronson has a penis and a face like a horse so Lindsay might technically be a bisexual and a zoophiliac.

Due to her rampant drunkenness and stints in rehab, for a time she had to appear in all movies and photo shoots with an ankle bracelet, observe it’s boxy beauty in these photos.
